G-Dem has its third birthday, this time hosted by Kat cause Jon didn't feel up to it and was lazy. Notably upgraded the server to 1.21.1 and removed MCMMO temporally because it was throwing errors. Core protect is also throwing errors but nothing can be done about that one. The events (planned and unplanned) included speeches, ultra singing, omegas fireworks, voting for the winner of the map art competion (Kat first winning a G-Block, followed by Aj, Jon then Ultra), and Jon's chairs flying. While waiting for the last minute construction of the fireworks to finish, we did both boat races (Jon winning their own boat race, and Ultra won Omega's race), took the subway, played Jack's gambling game, and had a court case about Ultra assaulting Rock. The event also showcased Jon's best newest lighting feature - scrolling lava text. (and also chairs on flying machines). Here is Kat's speech (which I guess has been amended to include things that changed): Opening Welcome to the third anniversary of G-Dem! Before we start, I’ll get some things out of the way. I’ve been a bad boy and to redeem myself I've put it upon myself this glorious purpose of hosting this event. Rules are as always - no attacking, killing or causing issues. This event is already special - it doesnt start off with Jon complimenting themselves in every way humanly possible - that’s why in this event we’ll go higher and better than ever. Others’ speeches Our apparently datapack person AjBallistic is going to tell us a bit about the new updates and custom recipes, AJ! [aj’s speech about the updates of the server] Thank you AJ that was insightful. Now time for Jon to bring us some exciting news about, well, I’ll let the guy himself tell it. [Jon giving out free tiers (and promotions?] Thank you Jon for all these freebies for the people, very generous. I still do recommend buying the subscription for yourself and support the server to make the stonks take flight if you know what I mean. Opening continuation I cannot lie and say it has all been that happy and active for the last months because even aj broke his streak of logging on every day. Howeverrr, I do believe that this means something bigger. We aren’t small incompetent children anymore running this server - we are now incompetent nearly-adults running the server and this means that the idea of G-dem has not disappeared as it may seem - it simply has taken a different form. What do I mean by this nonsense? Well it means that we carry the ideas and ideals and experiences of G-dem elsewhere in life and that’s beautiful, BUT todays the day we all collectively are gathered here to bring it back to the server where it all started.
